Volunteer

Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much. —Helen Keller

Volunteer work is not just an item on a resume or college application—it’s an essential part of our functioning society. The benefits of volunteer work with Tidewater Youth Services will reach far and wide with a ripple effect that begins with YOU and extends beyond the larger community, benefiting everyone in its wake. Volunteer work is the cornerstone that joins charitable service and hard work.

Due to the population we serve, volunteers are required to successfully complete a full criminal and Child Protective Services background check. This process generally takes 6-8 weeks upon completion of a volunteer application and interview.

*There are some positions that are not subject to background checks. Those are indicated within their descriptions.
